Fair Drop
← Back to Fair DropWHY CUSTOMER REACH MATTERS

A drop can reach more people.

Limited stock can sell out either way. The question is how many different customers get a chance to buy.

8 of 10growing brands saw buyer reach grow more than repeat-purchase loyalty.

A 2016 study of ten growing consumer-goods brands in the UK and US found this pattern. In one case, Goodfella’s household reach rose from 10% to 15%: a 50% relative increase, or 5 percentage points. This was an observational brand study, not a test of purchase limits or Fair Drop. Read the study · Author’s full text, Table 2.

What that means for a drop

Our hypothesis: spreading stock across more eligible customers can help more people try a brand. Whether that brings repeat sales or saves review time needs to be measured in real pilots.

A simple example

With 100 items, ten buyers taking ten each reaches ten buyers. One item each could reach 100 buyers: 900% more buyers, with the same number of items sold. This is arithmetic, not a measured result or revenue promise.

What we will measure

Fair Drop does not use race, gender or other demographic traits to decide who can buy. Here, a broader customer base means more distinct eligible buyers.
